Stewart Mountain Challenge
The Stewart Mountain Challenge is a fall trail race held at Thetis Lake Park in Victoria BC, with start and finish near the main beach and parking in the main lot at the end of Six Mile Road. The event offers two course options and uses single track, main trails, and forest double tracks.
The long course summits Stewart Mountain and includes a significant climb and descent with more trail variations; the short course follows similar trails before turning back toward the beach at the aid station. Trail surfaces can be wet and technical; mud, deep puddles, flowing streams, downed trees, snow and ice are possible depending on weather. Courses are marked and marshaled, but participants are responsible for following directional indicators.
Additional event details include on-site amenities and operating notes: the wash/change room building is closed and park water is turned off, portable toilets are provided, and a dry bag drop area is expected. Volunteers provide warming food and hot chocolate; participants who bring reusable dishes may receive larger servings. The event is designated to support Harriers Foundation initiatives such as student scholarships, athlete travel and youth development.
