Royal Roads Trail

The event takes place on April 10, 2027 at Royal Roads University in Colwood, Victoria, BC, on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations.

Distances offered:

  • 11 km long course
  • 6 km short course
  • 1 km kids race

Course and race services are staged from the grassy field at the main campus entrance. The long course includes about 300 m of vertical gain and one aid station at the 7.5 km mark. The short course includes about 100 m of vertical gain. The aid station on the long course will provide water, Gatorade and small snacks. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own drinking container or purchase a cup at the event.

Logistics notes: there is ample parking in the adjacent dirt track and pay parking is in effect; parking volunteers will assist. Bibs are issued from the registration tent and a government issued photo ID is required for pick up. Fees for the kids race are directed to the South Vancouver Island Nature Trails Society. After the race there will be post-race food and prize draws for finishers.

This race is part of the Vancouver Island Trail Running Series. Registration opens December 4, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
