About the race
The Stevens Creek Striders Reservoir Run is a trail race held at Stevens Creek County Park in Cupertino, California, organized by the Stevens Creek Striders. The event features varied terrain including shaded single-track on Tony Look, open vistas on Coyote Ridge, creek crossings, climbs, and fast descents.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon (13.2 mi) : approx 2,770 ft elevation gain
- 11K (6.8 mi) : approx 1,260 ft elevation gain
- Lollipop Loop (2.5 mi) : approx 250 ft elevation gain
Aid stations are placed every few miles on the longer courses and provide water, electrolyte drink, energy gels, granola bars, chips, and candies. Disposable cups are not provided; runners are strongly encouraged to carry a water bottle. The race is USATF sanctioned, follows Trail Sisters standards, is hand-timed using Ultrasignup timing software, and is capped at 150 entrants across the Half Marathon and 11K. The Lollipop Loop is a charity run/walk and children’s race with day-of registration and proceeds donated to California Fire Relief.
After the event there is a barbecue with meat and plant-based options. Participants can expect custom race swag including socks, prizes for top finishers by category, finisher certificates for the Lollipop Loop, and a collection for used running shoes to support Soles for Good.
