South Bay 24
South Bay 24 is an endurance event held at Montgomery Waller Community Park in San Diego on July 23, 2027. The event uses a measured 1.22 mile loop that combines trail, grass and bike path surfaces, with about 46 feet of elevation gain per loop. Completing 82 loops equals 100 miles.
The course runs counter-clockwise and the terrain mix is approximately 50% trail, 25% grass, and 25% bike path. Multiple timed options are offered, including a 24 hour event, 12 hour day and night options, a 6 hour event, a HEFFTY Half Marathon (about 15.86 miles), and a relaxed South Bay Social limited to 50 participants; the Social includes a finisher medal but no awards.
Event facilities include a runner campsite area next to the course, an on-course aid station stocked with water, electrolyte, snacks and hot water while supplies last, race finisher medals for all finishers, and a belt buckle for runners who complete 100 miles. Pacers are permitted with restrictions: only one pacer on course at a time, pacers must wear a pacer bib, and pacers must register in advance. Parking is available in the park lots and on Palm Avenue with additional street parking as overflow. The event is officially sanctioned by USATF San Diego. Registration for the 2027 season opened September 7, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
