Something To Talk About
Something To Talk About is a forest trail event held at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre in the New Forest, with a Grade I listed "calendar" manor house as a backdrop. The route is described as a technical looped trail of about 3.3 miles that passes through forest, over boardwalks and alongside lakes.
Participants may choose their own total distance on the day. Distances available include:
- 5K
- Ultra-marathon
All finishers who complete one loop or more receive a newly designed metal finisher medal. Number pick-up takes place on the day at race registration. The event provides toilets, showers and changing facilities.
There is an aid station at the start/finish of each lap offering drinks and a range of sweet and savoury snacks, including roast potatoes and cheese. An area is available to leave personal items. The event operates without single-use plastic cups, so participants are asked to bring their own drinking container.
Camping is available through Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre. The event is licensed by the TRA and run under UKA rules; as per those rules, distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under.
Location notes mention limited parking and a recommendation to car share, and the nearest train station is Hinton Admiral. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
