Solstice Saunter 2027

The Solstice Saunter 2027 is a five mile fundraising run for Sue Ryder held at Bolton Abbey Estate in Skipton on the evening of the Summer Solstice. The event is organised by the Airedale Dodgers in support of Sue Ryder and is run in partnership with Bolton Abbey Estate and sponsored by Ecology Building Society.

The in-person event follows a circular five mile route that starts from the Cavendish Pavilion car park, goes clockwise through Strid Wood to Barden Bridge, and returns along the river bank to finish at Cavendish Pavilion. The surface is a mix of tarmac and gravel with a short section on grass. Every participant receives a Solstice Saunter medal. There is also a Virtual Solstice Saunter option in which participants run a five mile route of their choice on the longest day and receive a medal.

Event information and conditions include age and safety requirements. Under 18s need a parent or guardian to complete the entry form and under 11s must remain within arm’s reach of a responsible adult. Only one dog per runner is permitted and dogs must be under firm control. Headphones are not allowed and wheeled transport such as wheelchairs, buggies and scooters is not permitted because of the terrain. The participant car parking fee is included in the entry charge and the entry fee is non-transferable and non-refundable except where organisers reschedule due to circumstances beyond their control. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
