Snow Peaks 50 Mile Trail Run - 2027
Snow Peaks is a 50 mile loop trail run held in the Wasatch Mountains above Provo, Utah on Saturday, June 12, 2027. The course includes roughly 10,000+ ft of elevation gain and loss and five major climbs ranging from about 1,100 ft to nearly 3,000 ft.
Runners encounter a mix of surfaces: about 43% single track and dirt trail, 38% dirt road, and 19% pavement. Paved sections include the first 2.1 miles from Vivian Park, a 3.7 mile stretch along Hobble Creek Road at mile 22.7, and the final 3.7 miles through South Fork Provo Canyon. The first climb begins at mile 2.1 and rises about 2,700 ft over 5 miles to the Kyhv Peak overlook. The highest point is just above Windy Pass near 9,300 ft; depending on conditions, snow is possible approaching that area. The route descends nearly 4,000 ft over the final 9+ miles back to Vivian Park.
The course is marked with orange flagging; orange and blue together indicate critical turns. Participants must have the course loaded on a phone or GPS device before the start. The race provides a GPX file and expects participants to use it as a backup.
There are nine aid stations spaced 4-7 miles apart. Medical support is available at the start/finish and at Little Valley (Aid Station 7). Windy Pass aid is liquid only. Drop bags are allowed at specified stations and Little Valley has a 2-gallon limit and 4x4 access only. Pacers and crew are permitted only at specified aid stations and must stay off the road; certain crew access or vehicle use will result in disqualification.
Registration opens November 1, 2027. Race capacity is 400 and there are tiered entry fees for early, standard, and late registration. Awards include top overall and age group prizes, finisher items, and multi-year finisher recognitions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
