About the race
The Follow the Flag 5K Trail Race is scheduled for July 10, 2027 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The event is a 5K trail run that follows sections of Grove Creek and finishes under a large flying American flag.
The course is described in three parts: the first mile is relatively flat and fast, the second mile climbs uphill and tends to spread the field, and the final mile is mostly downhill toward the finish along Grove Creek. Participants receive a Follow the Flag finisher medal at the finish.
Entry fees support the Follow the Flag Foundation's general purpose fund. Since 2014 the foundation has assisted at funerals for fallen members of the military and first responder community and has used funds for missions such as hanging flags in canyons, decorating neighborhoods when a fallen service member returns, repairing vehicles for affected families, and replacing large flags used in events. The race is organized by the volunteer-run Follow the Flag organization.
