Shepherd's Run 2026 : Hickman, NE
Shepherd's Run is a community fundraiser held at Shepherd of the Hills, 6901 Panama Rd., Hickman, NE 68372. The event supports the Norris Food Backpack Program and the local Food Pantry. Organizers seek sponsorships at $100 each to place a business name on event t-shirts, voice ads, and the event banner; the stated goal is to secure one hundred $100 sponsorships to fund the backpack program for a year.
The event offers two distances:
- 1 mile fun run/walk
- 5K trail run
Entry fees are listed as $15 for the 1 mile fun run/walk and $25 for the 5K timed run. Registration opens July 17, 2026 and closes October 3, 2026.
On the day of the event, participants register at Shepherd of the Hills, are shuttled to Stagecoach Lake via hayrack ride, and return afterward for prize distribution. A preschool "sheep run" is included as a photo opportunity. Post-run activities include a barbecue, live music, pumpkin and craft sales, and a petting zoo. Every participant receives a prize.
