Gravel Worlds: Winter Endurance 5.0
Gravel Worlds: Winter Endurance 5.0 takes place in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 20, 2027. The event uses nearly 100 percent gravel and dirt roads north and west of Lincoln. Organizers describe small town store checkpoints, clipboard timing, and intentionally small participation numbers for the biking events.
Cyclist entries are limited to 400 people. At this time there is no limit on running participants. Course terrain is described as constant rolling hills for the bike routes and gravel and dirt roads for the run.
Distances offered include:
- 100k Bike: about 63 miles of constant rolling hills
- 50k Bike: about 31 miles of constant rolling hills
- 25k Mile Bike: about 15 miles of constant rolling hills
- 10k Run: 6.2 miles on gravel and dirt roads
Lotto ticket checkpoints are part of official timing. All riders must purchase a Powerball or MegaMillions ticket at the general store or gas station checkpoints to prove they stopped and to receive an official time. Participants turn in their lotto tickets at the finish. Collected tickets are pooled; if any pooled ticket hits a major win, 10 percent is designated for charity and the remainder is divided evenly among participants, volunteers, and promoters.
