2026 Sea-Hawks XC Season Opener (5 km / 2 km)

This is a cross country race held on a grass looped course at the Pippy Park Frisbee Golf Field, located across Prince Philip Drive from the Confederation Building in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The event takes place on August 29, 2026 and is organized with NLAA sanctioning and implications for the Toyota Plaza series.

Distances offered:

  • 5 km for athletes born in 2012 and older
  • 2 km for athletes born in 2013 to 2016

Registration information notes a regular registration deadline on August 27, 2026. The entry fee for the first distance is CAD 20.00. Non member fees apply: a CAD 5.00 fee for senior non members and a CAD 1.00 fee per U14 non member registrant. Payments are accepted online; a small processing fee applies.

BIB pickup is available the day before at the Memorial University indoor track seating area at the MUN Fieldhouse, or on race day at the event venue. Route maps are provided for both the 5 km and 2 km courses. Parking is available at the College of the North Atlantic campus. The event supports Memorial University varsity cross country and uses the same course that hosted the 2024 Atlantic University XC Championships.
