ScaryAss 25K/14K/4k - Olympia, WA
ScaryAss 25K/14K/4k is a trail running event on October 31, 2026, organized by Oly Trail Runners at the Fall Creek Day Use area in Capitol Forest near Olympia, WA. The event offers three distance options on marked single-track and mountain bike trails.
Distances:
- 25K - Lost Valley, Mima West, M&M, and McKenny loop on single-track trails.
- 14K - Lost Valley and McKenny loop on single-track trails.
- 4K - Shorter course on mountain bike trails with small rollers, aimed at children and first-time trail runners.
The event does not provide aid stations, so participants need to carry their own water and fuel. Courses will be marked. Costume entrants are welcome and pumpkin pie prizes are awarded for race winners and best costume. Food and warm beverages are available after the run, along with a candy bag and a fire for participants to gather around.
Access to the Fall Creek Day Use area is via gravel logging roads from Sherman Valley Road; a sedan is generally adequate with cautious driving. The campground typically has space for camping the night before, and there is a large parking lot where people may sleep. Well behaved dogs are allowed on leash; owners must clean up after them.
