Little Backyard Adventure
Little Backyard Adventure is a loop-based trail running event in Olympia, WA, held on March 13, 2027 at 3333 Morse-Merryman Road SE. The event offers timed endurance formats that invite runners to complete as many loops as they wish; final results emphasize number of completed loops rather than fastest time. Runners may stop at any point during their chosen time block.
The course is mostly single-track through a neighborhood forest park with a canopy of ferns and moss. Each loop is approximately 4 miles with about 200 ft of elevation gain and includes steep sections and technical trail features. The setting is described as within the city and highlights preserved local forest land.
The event is part of Olympia Trailfest. Each racer receives a free entry to the Trail Running Film Festival on March 14 at the Capitol Theater in downtown Olympia. Registration opens November 1, 2026. The event is organized by Rock Candy Running, which operates several regional trail events including Little Backyard Adventure, Beast of Big Creek, and Saturnalia. Organizers will recognize participants who complete the most loops at a post-event ceremony and after party. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
