Saint Marys Lake Trail Series
Saint Marys Lake Trail Series is a loop trail event near Leonardtown, MD held on February 27, 2027. The course uses a roughly 10.5 mile loop around Saint Mary’s Lake and into Salem Forest; races consist of one, two, or three laps of that loop.
Distances:
- 17K
- 34K
- 50K
The surface is approximately 75% single track with dirt, roots, rock, and wooden bridges, 20% forest road, and 5% crushed gravel along the dam. Each lap has about 500 ft of cumulative elevation gain and descent. Trail markings are provided and a GPX file of the route is available. Depending on conditions, some mud and wet sections may be present but can usually be avoided while staying on the trail.
Aid and support are provided at a main aid station at the park entrance on Camp Cosoma Road and at a second aid station near the Salem Forest parking lot on Indian Bridge Road. The second station may not be staffed continuously; drop bags are allowed but should not contain valuables and must be retrieved after the event. Warm food and drinks, aid station supplies, and finish pancakes are part of the event offering. The trail remains open to the public during the event and may include mountain bikers, walkers, leashed pets, and horseback riders.
The event is limited to 100 participants. Refunds are not issued for cancellations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
