Carsington Water Trail Half Marathon & 10k - 4 December 2027
The event takes place at Carsington Water Visitor Centre, Big Ln, Upper Town, Ashbourne DE6 1ST. It offers two waymarked trail distances around the reservoir that pass waterside paths and open views of the surrounding Derbyshire countryside. The December setting brings crisp air and a calm winter atmosphere.

The half marathon route records approximately 200 m of elevation gain and both routes are marked with trail flags, tags, A5 arrows and signage. Marshals will be at major junctions and the organiser provides a GPX file so runners can check the route and self-navigate if needed. The course may be affected by weather, walkers or wildlife.
Entries include a themed medal, free race photos, chip timed results, post race goodies and a bag drop. Both races finish in the main event village where food and drink are available. The event village has toilets and a secure marquee for baggage; there is also a toilet block at the 10k start.
Parking at the venue is paid using number plate recognition. Visitor Centre car park charges: £3 for two hours or £5 for the whole day. Millfields Car Park charges: £2.50 for two hours or £4 for the whole day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
