Running Up For Air - Moab (April 3, 2027)
Running Up For Air - Moab is the fourth annual event in the Up For Air Series, held at the Moab Rim Trailhead on Kane Creek Blvd in Moab, Utah. The event offers timed looped trail races in individual and team formats: 12 hour, 6 hour, 3 hour, and a 3 hour relay. Registration opens October 31, 2026 and closes April 2, 2027; published entry fees are $120 for the 12 hour, $90 for the 6 hour, $60 for each 3 hour start, and $100 for the 3 hour relay.
The loop uses the Stairmaster Trail for the ascent and the Moab Rim Trail for the descent. The ascent gains 890 feet over 0.95 miles, with the same distance and grade on the descent across slickrock. The aid station is at the start and finish at the bottom and is passed about every 2 miles; water, sports drink, and basic food are provided. The event is cup free and follows a minimal footprint philosophy.
There is no parking at the event site or along Kane Creek Blvd; a free shuttle will run from Helen M Knight Elementary School. There is no cell reception at the base and better reception at the turnaround on top. No pets are allowed. Trekking poles are permitted but are not recommended for slickrock sections.
Proceeds support nonprofit causes: 50 percent goes to Running Up For Air Inc and 50 percent to Youth Garden Project; donors may choose Youth Garden Project, Clean Air Utah, or the Running Up For Air Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
