About the race
The Run for Water Trail Race takes place on Sumas Mountain in Abbotsford, British Columbia, at 37797 Taggart Rd. The event offers three trail distances on rugged single-track trails with roots, rocks, mud and substantial elevation gain, and provides views of the Fraser River and the Fraser Valley.
Distances include:
- 10K, 500 metres elevation gain
- 25K, nearly 1,500 metres elevation gain
- 50K, nearly 3,000 metres elevation gain
The 25K and 50K routes visit the two highest peaks in Sumas Mountain Regional Park. The 50K route follows the 25K course twice, with the first loop run in the opposite direction to the 25K route. Trails are described as technical and flowy single track.
Registration requires full payment at time of entry and fees are non refundable. Donations or fundraising amounts above the race entry fee are tax deductible. Registered participants may switch to a shorter distance at no cost, subject to availability, provided the organizer is notified one week before race day. Deferral to the following year and bib transfers to another runner are not offered.
Package pick up is available early on Friday June 4 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Valhalla Pure Outfitters in Abbotsford. Race day packages are collected at the start and finish area; participants are advised to allow 30 to 60 minutes to collect packages before their event start time.
