Run for the Range Trail Run
Run for the Range is the second annual trail-running event held at Fall Creek Ranch in Granbury, Texas. The ranch covers 1,500 acres of native grasslands, woodlands, creek corridors, and pastures that are permanently protected through a conservation easement.
The event offers multiple race formats:
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 10K - 6.2 miles
- 5K - 3.1 miles
- Couch Conservationist (virtual)
The course runs on dirt roads and single-track trails and includes rolling hills, creek crossings, wooded sections, and scenic overlooks. Participants should expect uneven terrain and natural trail conditions with approximately 220 feet of elevation change; trail shoes are strongly recommended. Bulk water and hydration stations will be available for refills and participants are encouraged to bring reusable bottles.
All finishers receive a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers in each race, plus age group awards with named categories covering under 18 through 60+. Post-race provisions include warm food, beer, and live music in a family-friendly setting. No pets are allowed and parking is available onsite.
Registration fees vary by race and registration period, and team discounts apply for groups of five or more. If conditions make the trails unsafe, the event may be cancelled with refunds offered. All proceeds benefit the Texas Agricultural Land Trust. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
