Run for Nature - Lowell
Run for Nature is a community event at Shedd Park in Lowell on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The event features multiple running and walking options and supports Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust’s conservation and education programs.
Available distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Trail Run (no walk option)
- 1 mile Kids Fun Run/Walk (ages 12 and under)
The course combines double- and single-track trails in Shedd Park and Rogers Fort Hill Park with a paved segment along the Concord River Greenway. The route uses minimal sidewalks and roads to connect trails, will be marked with flags and signs, and will be staffed at road crossings and major turns. 10K participants will complete the loop twice; the course includes one water stop that 10K participants pass twice. Water and light snacks will be available at the finish area. Organizers encourage bringing personal water bottles to reduce waste.
Event features include educational displays, children’s activities, live animals, and light refreshments. The event is planned to proceed in all weather and there are no refunds or day of registration. Parking is available at Shedd Park Pavilion with additional parking along Knapp Avenue and at lots accessed from Park Avenue East.
Proceeds support the trust’s work to protect land, conserve local species and waterways, provide STEM based environmental education for youth, and maintain community programs and urban forestry efforts. Donations and sponsorships will be matched dollar for dollar. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
