Run Bolton Abbey 2026
Run Bolton Abbey is a trail running event on the Bolton Abbey Estate in North Yorkshire organised by Sue Ryder. The event offers several distances across estate paths and is held as a fundraising event for Sue Ryder. The course is described as hilly and generally follows estate trails on a single lap.
Available distances include:
- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10 miles
- 10K
- 2.4 mile family fun run
There is an overall entry limit of 1200 places and strict cut offs for the 10 mile and half marathon distances. Routes were revised for 2022, with the 10K adjusted to be considerably easier; the races include some sections of the estate not usually open to the public. Each finisher receives a medal made from fallen trees from the estate.
Race facilities at the event headquarters on the field opposite Cavendish Pavilions include water and toilets. There are no distance markers, no changing facilities, no showers, and no baggage storage. Free parking is provided all day at the event, and all proceeds from the event go towards the care provided by Sue Ryder. Entry on the day is not available.
