Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs : Wingfield Park, August 22, 2026
The Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs take place at Wingfield Park in Midtown Ruidoso as part of the 2026 Run Ruidoso Series. The event offers multiple race options on mountain trails and finishes in the Midtown area. Proceeds benefit All-Season Adaptive Sports to expand outdoor recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Race distances:
- 13.8 miles Half Marathon Heavy, rugged technical course with sustained climbs and descents
- 8.5 miles Mid-distance course with varied terrain and elevation
- 4 miles Half paved, half trail; walkers welcome
- Kids’ Dash One loop around Wingfield Park; custom finisher medal for every child
Participants receive a commemorative engraved granite stone coaster, a custom soft-style event T-shirt (size guaranteed with timely registration), a custom race bib with chip timing, and free professional race photos. Post-race provisions include refreshments, fruit, photographers at the finish, and showers available at the Ruidoso Athletic Club. The official after-party is held at Downshift Brewing Company.
Course and safety notes: this is a cupless event, so participants should bring their own hydration container; water refill stations are provided at points on the course. Trails are clearly marked, and intersections display distance signage. Pets, strollers, and e-bikes are not permitted on the trail courses. The Grindstone series has been supported by the Village of Ruidoso, Lincoln County, and the U.S. Forest Service since 2014, and has donated more than $60,000 over eleven years to adaptive recreation.
