XTERRA World Championship, Ruidoso (Oct 8 to Oct 11, 2026)
The XTERRA World Championship is a multiday off-road sports event held in Ruidoso, New Mexico, centered on Grindstone Lake Park with event activity areas at Wingfield Park. The program includes World Championship races for Elite, Age Group, and Youth divisions and combines off-road triathlon and trail running formats. The event lists more than 1,000 athletes from over 55 countries and an elite prize purse of US$100,000.

- Full Distance Triathlon - Swim 1.5 km, Bike 27 km, Run 10 km
- Sprint Triathlon - Swim 750 m, Bike 15 km, Run 5 km
- Open Sprint Triathlon - Swim 750 m, Bike 15 km, Run 5 km
- Super Sprint Triathlon - Swim 400 m, Bike 7 km, Run 2 km
- Trail Run - 5 km
Course grading is provided for participants as Easy, Intermediate, and Difficult. The event schedule features practice access to bike and run courses, community rides and runs, swim recon sessions, an expo, bike mechanic support, yoga sessions, a welcome ceremony, and award ceremonies.
