Capitan Mountain 34 Hour, April 16 and 17, 2027
The Capitan Mountain 34 Hour is a 34 hour endurance run in Capitan, New Mexico, organized by Yeti Trail Runners. The event includes a separate Smokey 50K held on the Saturday morning of the race weekend.
Distances offered include:
- 100 miles (buckle awarded)
- 80 miles (Smokey's 80th Birthday buckle)
- Smokey 50K
- Distances from 25K upward
The course is composed of soft, runnable loops of about four miles with a central aid station and headquarters. The format is crew optional. A GPX file is available via Ultrapacer.
On-site support and logistics noted by the organizer include a food truck provided with registration serving lunch, dinner, and midnight snacks for 34 hour participants; pacers permitted between midnight and 6:00 AM; camping at the start and finish on a first come, first served basis under BLM rules; and some RV water hookups. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at Rob Jaggar Campground. Professional chip timing is provided by Zen Arcade Timing with live lap counting, real time tracking, and split displays.
