Rothrock by UTMB
Rothrock by UTMB is a trail running event based in State College, Pennsylvania, set within Rothrock State Forest. The courses traverse sandstone ridges, fern-covered valleys, rhododendron tunnels, cliffs, and streams. The event takes place in May 2027, when spring foliage and blooming mountain laurel create a seasonal backdrop.

The weekend connects to Happy Valley’s local community and historic character, with locally owned shops, eateries, and regional hospitality noted as part of the visitor experience. The race emphasizes trail stewardship through UTMB Community Bibs. Those Community Bibs are part of The IRONMAN Foundation and support local community organizations and trail stewardship programs; half of the registration costs for Community Bibs go to a local charity chosen by the race team. The IRONMAN Foundation reports that since 2003 it has provided over $60 million in grant funding and support to more than 10,000 nonprofit initiatives.
