Event Overview
The fourth annual Oktoberfest 5K Trail Race takes place at Boal City Brewing in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania. Held during the autumn season, the event coincides with peak fall foliage and the brewery's Oktoberfest celebrations. The race utilizes the natural landscapes surrounding the historic Boal Estate Mansion, offering a mix of cultural heritage and outdoor activity.
Course Details
The course for the 5 km trail race begins behind the brewery and follows the gravel driveway of the 200-year-old Boal Estate Mansion. Participants run beneath oak and maple trees, passing the Columbus Chapel before entering recently cut farm fields. The route continues through the Stan Yoder Preserve and Blue Spring Park. While the trails are described as smooth, the terrain includes several hills. The course is marked with arrows for navigation.

Participation and Awards
The event includes a shorter trail loop specifically for participants aged 12 and under. For the main 5 km distance, awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall based on gun time. The first-place winners have their names engraved on a trophy kept at the brewery. Age group awards, determined by chip time, are also provided for categories ranging from 29 and under to 60 and up. All participants aged 21 and older receive a beverage after the race.
Logistics
Parking is restricted to the brewery grounds, and participants are advised not to park on neighborhood streets. Packet pick-up occurs on the morning of the event at the brewery.
