Tussey Mountainback
Tussey Mountainback is a multi-distance running event held in Boalsburg, PA, that uses roads through Rothrock State Forest. Distances offered include:
- 100 mile
- 50 mile
- 50 mile relay
- 50k
- Half marathon
The course runs on a mix of gravel roads, forest service roads, and rolling hills. The event uses marked routes and provides course maps at check-in. Restrooms and aid stations are available at multiple transition locations; hydration and medical supplies are provided at aid stations. Medical personnel including EMS and Wilderness First Responders are on site.
Event logistics and rules specify that drop bags must be left at packet pickup on Friday and will be returned to the beer garden as aid stations close. Bicycles and any listening devices are prohibited on course. Solo runners and relay teams must follow vehicle support rules: one support vehicle per team or ultrarunner, size limits for vehicles, and restrictions on motor homes and oversized vehicles. Teams must adhere to a submitted relay rotation order and complete handoffs within transition zones. Spectators are directed to designated viewing locations and should stay clear of transition areas. The event provides food and refreshments at the finish, and this year finisher items include running socks and stainless steel tumblers. The start and finish locations have been updated so the finish is at the beer garden. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
