About the race
Robin Hood 100 is a fully marked ultra that follows runnable, scenic trails and towpaths around Nottinghamshire. The route goes into Sherwood Forest for two laps before returning to South Wheatley. The course uses the Chesterfield Canal towpath to reach Clumber Park, then follows sections of the Dukeries race route and passes sandstone villages and historical sites including Creswell Crags, the Welbeck and Thoresby estates, and The Major Oak. The terrain is described as relatively flat with only mild undulations, which organizers present as making the course "fast." All HOBO Pace races are marshalled and waymarked, so no navigation beyond common sense and a general understanding of the route is needed to stay on track.
Due to repeated tracker issues in dense forest, runners do not wear trackers; participants are accounted for by admin aid station recording. Basic refreshment is provided at regular intervals and at the finish. Registration, start and finish are at Sturton Road, South Wheatley Village Hall, Retford, Notts, DN22 9DH. The event has a minimum age of 20 and an entry fee listed at £172.00.
