RDM Trail Race - Trussville, AL
The RDM Trail Race is scheduled for May 22, 2027 in Trussville, Alabama on Cahaba Mountain. The event offers two distances listed below.
- 5M single 5-mile loop on technical single-track trail.
- 5K follows much of the same route with certain portions cut off.
The course is roughly 90% trail with multiple switchbacks, elevation changes, and varied terrain that includes roots and rocks. There is one aid station near the halfway point of the loop and additional support at the start/finish area. Trail shoes or hiking boots are recommended depending on pace.
The start and finish are in the parking lot of the Trussville Senior Citizens Center at 504 Cherokee Dr. Packet pickup will take place at the start/finish area on the morning of the race and 5k and 5-mile bibs use different colors. There is a total cap of 150 competitors.
All registrants receive a finishers medal. The 1st through 3rd overall male and female finishers in each distance receive a free 24e Membership: 1st receives 12 months, 2nd receives 6 months, and 3rd receives 3 months. Awards are given for 1st overall male and female in each distance and for 1st and 2nd male and female in each age division. Age divisions are Under 20, 21-35, 36-50, and Masters 50 plus.
If a participant registers for both distances separately, their official time and place will be recorded with the 5-mile awards and they will receive an RDM tumbler mug. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
