Rasus y Bannau
Rasus y Bannau takes place 2nd–3rd April 2027 and is based in Brecon Town Centre at Theatre Brycheiniog, LD3 7DW. The event is organised by Run Walk Crawl and comprises three long-distance mountain races that start and finish in Brecon and follow circular routes through Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
The routes run along ridgelines, summits, forests, valleys and waterfalls and include exposed terrain that may require GPS navigation and mountain skills. Night running on remote terrain is possible for the ultra distances.
Distances
- 100 km Ultra (approx +5,100 m elevation)
- 40 mile Ultra (approx +2,850 m elevation)
- Marathon (approx +2,000 m elevation)
Support on course includes a series of checkpoints with water, energy drink, snacks, noodles, soup and sandwiches; the 100 km race has seven checkpoints and a drop bag option at checkpoint 5. Event services listed for all races include GPS tracking, electronic timing, route marking, mountain safety teams and race photography.
Brecon functions as the event base and provides access to accommodation, parking and local facilities for participants and event staff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
