Calero Hills Hardcore Ultras (July 3–4, 2027) at Calero County Park
This is a multi-distance trail ultrarun held at Calero County Park, 23205 McKean Rd., San Jose, CA. The event uses a core 16 mile clockwise loop on single-track and dirt roads that include shaded and exposed sections with oak trees and no creek crossings. All distances complete the 16 mile loop first; the course then uses combinations of reversed loops and out-and-back sections for longer distances.
Distances:
- 100k / 54 miles
- 50k (listed as 32 miles)
- 50k / 26 miles
- 25k
Course features include two main aid stations on the 16 mile loop: the Rancho Canada del Oro parking lot and the Cottle aid station inside Calero Park. There are additional water stops on the loop at miles 9, 10, and 15. Drop bag locations are provided at the start/finish and at key mile points for 50k and 100k runners. Crew access is allowed at Calero Park and at the Rancho Canada del Oro aid station, which is described as a short drive from the park.
Pacer rules for the longest distance are specified: pacers are allocated a bib, only one pacer at a time, and no muling is permitted. The course notes wildlife and vegetation hazards, including rattlesnakes, mountain lions, and poison oak; runners should be prepared for variable weather and use lights when on course during dark hours.
