Rainbow Weekend 5K
The Rainbow Weekend 5K takes place on October 17, 2026 in Kent, Ohio as part of Main Street Kent's sixth annual Rainbow Weekend. The event theme for the weekend is Pride and Joy.
The event is a community 5K walk and fun run open to LGBTQ+ people and allies. It is family friendly and welcomes children to run with an adult or to cheer at the finish line. Children 12 and under are free with registration.
The route runs through the trees of the Portage Hike and Bike Trail and both start and finish are at North Water Brewing Company. An End of the Rainbow Party will take place at the finish area. The race route is accessible, but the path from the finish line to North Water Brewing Company is not; event organizers will work with individuals who need assistance navigating the course on race day.
Pricing varies by registration date:
- August 1 to August 31: $25.00 plus $2.50 registration fee
- September 1 to September 15: $30.00 plus $2.80 registration fee
- September 16 to October 17: $35.00 plus $3.10 registration fee
Each ticket includes participation in the 5K, a race bib, a T shirt though sizes and availability cannot be guaranteed after September 16, and additional giveaways and snacks. A portion of drink purchase proceeds at North Water Brewing Company will be donated to the Portage County Pride Fund offered through The Portage Foundation.
