Questars West Yorkshire Adventure Race - 22 August 2026
The West Yorkshire Adventure Race takes place on Saturday 22 August 2026 in the Calder Valley, based at Mytholmroyd Leisure Centre, Caldene Ave, Hebden Bridge HX7 5AF. It is the fifth event in the 2026 Summer Series.
The event uses a score format. Participants use a map and compass to navigate to as many checkpoints as possible within a time limit. There are no set distances for any discipline, so entrants choose how far they run, bike and kayak. Disciplines offered are run, bike and kayak.
Entry options and typical fees are published for several formats: run only or bike only from £35 for up to 2 hours; duo run and bike for £60 for up to 5 hours; trio masters and trio novice run bike and kayak for £75 for up to 5 or 6 hours. Events are open to solos and to teams of 2, 3 or 4 people. Competitive teams must remain together for the duration of the race. Anyone using an e bike must declare this before starting and will be classified as non competitive.
Kayak equipment including sit on top kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids is provided. Bike hire is available from Cyclexperience from around £42 with puncture protection and a damage waiver; hire bikes are collected and returned at the event. A mandatory safety kit is required.
Facilities at the venue include onsite parking, an indoor hall for shelter, event catering and toilets, showers and changing areas. On average, about a quarter of Questars participants are new to adventure racing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
