Quad Rock 50 and 25 - May 2027
The Quad Rock races are held on trails west of Fort Collins in Lory State Park and Horsetooth Mountain Park. The event offers two distances:
- 25 miles with approximately 5,500 feet of vertical gain
- 50 miles with approximately 11,000 feet of vertical gain
The course ranges from about 5,444 to 7,087 feet in elevation and averages near 6,200 feet. Terrain is primarily singletrack (about 85 percent) with some dirt road (about 15 percent). The initial 25 mile loop runs clockwise from Soldier Canyon; 50 mile runners complete a second loop in the opposite direction.
Aid stations are staffed and fully stocked at most locations with drinks, gels, snacks, sandwiches, hot drinks and simple meals; two unmanned water stations are planned. Gluten free and vegan options are available for many offerings. The course is marked with pink flagging, directional arrows, and frequent confidence flagging on long stretches.
Field size is limited to 450 runners total with separate caps for each distance. Time allowances are specified for each distance and course cutoffs are enforced at aid stations. Crewing is allowed only at designated aid stations and pacing outside aid stations is prohibited. Race rules also prohibit dogs and purposeful littering. Medical and emergency communications coverage is provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
