Punk Panther Ripon Stinger
The Ripon Stinger is a trail race that starts and finishes in Studley Roger near Ripon. The route largely follows the Ripon Rowel and passes wooded valleys and several historic or notable sites, including Fountains Abbey (a world heritage site), Studley Water gardens, the River Skell Valley of the Seven Bridges, St Margaret’s Church, and Hackfall woods.

Climb values for the courses are 743, 1688 and 3456 feet respectively. The event carries ITRA points 0/1/2 and UTMB qualification Q20K/Q20K/Q50K for the three distances. Entries close on Sunday 2nd May 2027; an early bird deadline is listed as 31st December 2026. Entries are not accepted on the day. Maximum entrants are 200 and the minimum age is 18.
Race services include numbered checkpoints with water, soft drinks, snacks and vegan and gluten free options. Provisional checkpoints are North Stainley (CP1), Masham (CP2, ultra only) and Skelding (CP3); locations visited depend on chosen distance. Support crews may attend CPs except CP3. Ultramarathon entrants receive event trackers and shorter-distance runners may hire trackers for a fee; tracker positions are visible on the event tracker screen. Registration and toilets are at Studley Roger Village Hall. At the finish each finisher receives a medal and an event T shirt unless opted out; homemade hot food, vegan and gluten free options, hot drinks and snacks are provided.
