About the race
The Plasie Trail Run is a trail running event held at Merensky Landbou Akademie in Tzaneen, Limpopo, as part of the Merensky Agricultural Academy 90-Year Celebration Festival. The event offers routes through avocado orchards, macadamia plantations, forest sections, dams, wetlands and wooden bridges on flowing farm trails.
Race options include:
- 9 km trail route through varied farm scenery.
- 4.5 km shorter route suitable for families and walkers.
A total of R10,400 in prize money is available across the two races. Entry for each participant includes a finisher medal, a goodie bag, a lucky draw entry and access to the 90-Year Celebration Festival, which features food stalls, a flea market, a warrior race, tug of war, family entertainment and live music.
Water points are provided on both routes and at the finish. Specific water point locations:
- 9 km route water points at 3.7 km and 6.0 km, plus water at the finish.
- 4.5 km route water points at 2.5 km and 3.8 km, plus water at the finish.
Race packs and goodie bags can be collected on the day for a limited time, with a dedicated collection session the day before at Merensky Sports Centre.
