Pitsea RC Crown to Crown 5K - September
Pitsea Running Club hosts Race 6 of the Crown to Crown 2026 series, a measured off road 5 kilometre run held at Westley Heights Country Park. The route uses bridleways and some tarmac, starts on Beeleigh Avenue, follows Lee Chapel Lane, loops through Willow Park and finishes at the Westley Heights car park. Spikes are not suitable because of tarmac sections.
Entry fees include online processing and are offered at different rates for England Athletics affiliated clubs, unaffiliated adult runners, and ages 12 to 17. On the day entries are available at the same price. The event will be licensed by the TRA and held under UK Athletics rules.
Race safety measures include course marshals, a tail runner, first aid on course and at the finish, a defibrillator at the finish and water at the finish. One mass start is used for all age groups and timing is gun to finish rather than chip timing. Rules state no runners under 12, no dogs, no pushchairs and no headphones unless bone conductive. Results are published the following day.
Parking at the venue is limited and may require a short walk from parking areas. If the event is cancelled for weather, course conditions or landowner advice, entrants will be offered a transfer to a later 2026 race or a refund less unavoidable card processing fees.
