Pitsea RC Crown to Crown 5K : 12 Aug 2026
Pitsea Running Club stages Race 5 of the Crown to Crown 2026 series, a measured off road 5K that forms one of seven off road events in the series. The event date is 12 Aug 2026.
The start and finish are at Westley Heights Country Park, at the rear of the Miller & Carter Crown public house. Parking is limited; participants should allow extra time and may need to walk for about ten minutes from available parking. Public toilets at the venue have reopened.
Entry fees include online processing costs and are listed as £2.50 for 18+ England Athletics affiliated runners (attached), £4.50 for 18+ unaffiliated runners (unattached), and £1.50 for ages 12–17. On the day entries are available at the same price; online entry reduces queuing. The series is to be licensed by the TRA and run under UK Athletics rules.
The route is a fully measured 5K, mainly on bridleways. The course starts on Beeleigh Avenue, continues onto Lee Chapel Lane, loops through Essex Wildlife Trust’s Willow Park, and returns to finish at Westley Heights car park. Terrain includes trail and bridleway sections with some tarmac; spikes are not suitable.
The event follows UK Athletics rules (TRA Permit No. 8093). Restrictions include no under 12s, no dogs, no pushchairs, and no headphones unless bone conductive. Timing is gun to finish and results are published the following day. Course marshals, a tail runner, first aid, a defibrillator, and water at the finish are provided.
If cancellation is required for weather, course conditions, or landowner or government advice, entries may be transferred to a later 2026 race or refunded minus card processing fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
