Remembrance Day Marathon & Half Marathon
Phoenix Running stages the Remembrance Day Marathon & Half Marathon on Sunday 08 November 2026 at Xcel SPORTS HUB Stadium, Waterside Drive, Walton on Thames, Surrey.
The event offers two distances:
- Marathon
- Half marathon
The entry fee is the same for both distances; participants choose marathon or half marathon during entry. Affiliated and unaffiliated entry prices are listed by the organiser. The first 100 entries for the 10th edition receive additional commemorative items. All participants, attended or virtual, receive a giveaway medal or memento.
The course is off road on a riverside towpath. The full marathon is four out-and-back laps and the half marathon is two out-and-back laps. The organiser states the overall course has no elevation gain or loss, making it flat.
A central feature is a planned race freeze in which, at the sound of a horn, all runners pause to observe a two minute silence and then resume when further horn signals sound. The organiser describes this pause as the heart of the event and notes that members of the public have previously paused in solidarity. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under in line with UK Athletics rules. Places have been limited in previous years and the event has reached capacity.
