Brutal @ Spider Hill
Brutal at Spider Hill takes place at Spider Hill in Long Valley on Saturday 21st November. Entries close 23:59 on Thursday 19th November. Car sharing is available and the event arena is reached via a short drive up a track from the entrance off Bourley Road.
The main course is a single lap of approximately 10 km and passes through named wet sections including Alligator Swamp, Swan Lake, the Muddy Mile and Duck Pond. A 5 km route was added in 2022 as a shortened version of the 10 km route; it retains mud, water and hills in a reduced format.

The route description: a gentle run out leads to a steep climb, then a sequence of climbs and marshes to the 5 km point. After that the course goes into a cooling marsh, Alligator Swamp and Swan Lake, drops onto the Muddy Mile with two steep climb outs and offers a wide view around the 8 km mark. It continues via Duck Pond, a short steep uphill followed by a fast descent and a couple of final testing hills before the finish.
Entry limits are 300 for the 10 km and 100 for the 5 km. Entry fees differ by date and category, with early bird rates from 20th April and standard rates from 28th September. Juniors are under 18 on race day; minimum ages are 10 for 5 km and 13 for 10 km. Entries can be withdrawn up until 1400 on the Thursday before the event and will be credited to the entrant's account rather than refunded.
