Petzl Night Runner Rivington 2027

Petzl Night Runner Rivington is the final round of the Petzl Night Runner Trail Series, held on 16 January 2027 at Rivington and Blackrod High School, Rivington Lane, Bolton BL6 7RU. The event offers two marked night trail distances.

Both routes are marked with reflective signs. Participants must use a good quality head torch or hand held torch to light the route. The terrain at Rivington is rough, boggy and rocky, so road shoes are not adequate; trail or fell type shoes with an aggressive tread are recommended. Because the event takes place in winter, warm clothing is advised and a wind or waterproof jacket is recommended.

The minimum age for the main races is 16 years on the day. There is a free 1k kids event with medals for all children who finish. Dogs are not permitted to take part in the races; well behaved dogs are allowed as supporters in the start and finish area.

Entry includes a glow in the dark finishers medal, water at the finish, electronic timing and high resolution event photographs available to download free. Entry fees are discounted for the first 100 entries then increase for general entry. Registration closes on 15 January 2027 or when the event fills.
