About the race

The Peak District Ultra Challenge takes place in the Southern Peak District on 3–4 July 2027 with a basecamp in Bakewell. The event offers multiple distance options on looped and point-to-point routes through Derbyshire, and the basecamp includes camping, parking, transfers and on-site hospitality.

Distance options include:

  • 100 km loop
  • 50 km loop
  • 25 km loop
  • 10 mile option (Bakewell)

The event provides organised support along the route. Covered rest stops appear roughly every 12.5 km with major stops every 25 km; these include marquee cover, catering, seating, changing areas and medical and welfare tents. Medical teams, paramedics, podiatrists and massage staff are available at rest stops and via a 24 hour control room. The route is signed with arrows and night glow-sticks and the event uses GPS tracking and a timing system that scans progress at rest stops.

Participants receive food and drinks included in their entry with snacks every 12.5 km and meals every 25 km; dietary needs are catered for and lighter options are offered for runners. Camping packages and a circa 50 km campsite are available for multi day options. Finishers receive a medal, T shirt, a glass of fizz and a finisher meal, and an official challenge certificate is available for download. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
