Peak District Ultra Challenge
The Peak District Ultra Challenge takes place in the Southern Peak District on 3-4 July 2027 and is based at a Bakewell basecamp. The event will welcome over 3,000 participants and offers camping, parking, transfers, a bar and weekend hospitality and welfare facilities.
Distances and route options include:
- 100 km figure-of-eight route through Derbyshire
- 50 km loop option
- 25 km loop option
- 10 mile Bakewell option
Routes pass local highlights such as Chatsworth House. The event provides full support on course with signed routes marked by pink arrows and glow-sticks at night, GPS tracking via an event app, and a timing system that scans progress at rest stops.
Covered rest stops appear roughly every 12.5 km with major stops about every 25 km; these include marquees, catering, seating, changing rooms, medical and massage teams. Food and drink are provided throughout the route with snacks every 12.5 km, meals about every 25 km, energy drinks, options for different dietary needs and a hot finishers meal. Camping packages are available, including a circa 50 km campsite for multi-day options.
Medical cover includes doctors, paramedics, first aiders, podiatrists and mobile emergency teams supported by a 24 hour control room. Finishers receive a medal, a finisher T-shirt, a glass of fizz and can download an official certificate. The event app also offers training guides, maps and optional training walks.
