OWLS Fort Macon 5K Trail Run
The OWLS Fort Macon 5K Trail Run is scheduled for April 17, 2027 at Fort Macon in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina (2303 East Fort Macon Road). The event distance is 5K.
The course is cross country style with moderate elevation. Trail surfaces include wooded sections and open sun, with footbridge crossings and views of Beaufort Inlet, Bogue Sound and the Atlantic Ocean visible at points along the route.
The event is organized by OWLS Wildlife Center, a non profit 501(c)(3) organization that cares for injured, sick, and orphaned native North Carolina wildlife. The organization states its mission as rehabilitate and release wildlife and to educate the community about conservation, protection, and environmental stewardship.
Registration information lists a fee of $40 which includes an OWLS short sleeve tee shirt. A deadline to guarantee a race shirt is noted as March 31.
