About the race
OUTLAST Dallas Fort Worth in Granbury, TX is a trail endurance event that runs across 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour formats. Runners complete a 5K loop every hour; each lap must be finished within the hour to remain in the event. If a runner finishes early, they rest until the next hour; if they miss a lap, they are removed from that event. Courses are trail-based with natural terrain, elevation changes, and variable conditions; some sections may include pavement or gravel.
There will be a basecamp/loop start with water, basic hydration, and snacks. This is a cupless event, so participants must bring their own bottle or hydration system. Participants may set up a tent or personal aid station at the site. Recognition is awarded by laps completed: 4 laps earns a "Grit Earned" patch, 5 laps a "Survivor" patch, 6 laps a premium OUTLAST 6-inch medal, 12 laps a premium OUTLAST ULTRA 12-inch medal, and 24 laps a premium OUTLAST ULTRA buckle.
All participants receive a premium OUTLAST T‑shirt. Top male and female finishers in each event are determined by the fastest combined 5K times and receive the 1st Place OUTLAST award. Finishers are ranked on a national leaderboard. The fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6-hour events is named National Champion and is awarded $1,000.
Top local 6-hour champions can earn spots in the Outlast Championship held in DFW with additional prize money for top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
