Ouray Mountain Trail Run
The Ouray Mountain Trail Run is a 13 mile trail race in Ouray, Colorado, held on September 19, 2026. The course starts and finishes at Fellin Park and follows mountain trails in the Ouray area.
The event is a fundraiser for the Ouray School, hosted by the school Parent and Teacher Organization and the high school Outdoor Education Class. Funds support student educational trips to places such as Moab, Denver, Washington DC and Mexico. The listed entry fee is $98.12 USD; the organizer states entry fees are nonrefundable and not transferable between years or runners.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race, Friday, September 18, and on the morning of the race; there are no day-of registrations. The race aims to be cupless. There will be three water stations with limited cups, so participants are advised to carry their own water. A first aid station is located about 5 miles into the course and a second aid station is near 7 miles; all runners must reach the second aid station within 3 hours.
Race awards will be presented to the top three male and top three female finishers. Registrants may choose an optional Outdoor Research athletic t-shirt for an additional cost; selected sizes are guaranteed only for registrations completed before August 1. Ouray County students and school staff may participate free of charge by contacting the organizers for a coupon code; the complimentary entry does not include the race shirt, which can be purchased separately for $20.
