About the race
One Ale of a Trail is a multi-distance trail running event in Little Elm, Texas that follows the Lakefront Trail along Lake Lewisville. The course uses mostly crushed granite, packed dirt, and natural trail surfaces, and includes a few bridges and lakeside sections. Participants can choose from runnable trail distances that wind through a lakefront park.

The event is professionally chip timed for all three in-person distances and includes awards for overall male and female, masters, and age-group finishers. Organizers provide aid stations with water and hydration on course and refreshments at the finish line; participants age 21 and over receive a post-race beer. Finishers receive event swag including a long sleeve shirt, a custom bottle opener finisher medal, and a race bib. The race operates rain or shine, and participants should expect a published time limit that corresponds roughly to a 16–17 minute per mile pace. Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course.
