Northumberland Turkey Trot : Cobourg, ON : October 12, 2026
The Northumberland Turkey Trot takes place at the Cobourg YMCA, 339 Elgin St W, Cobourg, Ontario, and supports the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign. Fundraising shows CA$136.20 raised toward a CA$10,000.00 goal.
Event formats include:
- 5 km timed run
- 2.5 km timed run/walk
- 1 km Wing Ding kids fun run, untimed
- Gobble Wobble activity for children 4 and under
- Choose Your Own Adventure option for virtual or flexible participation
The course starts at the YMCA and passes through the Cobourg Conservation Area. Most of the route is on grass with uneven ground and small rolling hills. The 5 km course is two laps of the 2.5 km loop.
Finisher medals are reserved for the first 400 registrants who participate in the 2.5 km and 5 km events; kids medals are provided for the 1 km with a 150 child limit. Awards recognize the top three male and female finishers in categories 18 and under and 19 plus. The Golden Drumstick Award is given for best costume or turkey spirit.
Logistics noted: bibs are assigned at the event; dogs are not allowed on the course but leashed dogs may be in the start/finish area; strollers are asked to remain off the course during timed runs and the 2.5 km is suitable for carrying small children in a backpack or sling. A family discount code FAMILY25 provides 25% off for registrations that meet the family definition of 2 adults and up to 4 children under 18.
