No Shame Shindig
No Shame Shindig is a multi-distance trail race held at Willow Creek State Recreation Area near Pierce, Nebraska on June 12, 2027. Distances offered include:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
The course consists of a 10 mile loop on the Limestone Hike/Bike Trail. For 2027 the course will be run in reverse. The Start/Finish and main aid station are located at the Warren G. Otto Picnic Area (Boat Launch). An unmanned aid station is placed approximately halfway and will be stocked with water, ice, Tailwind Sports Drink, and a variety of snacks.
Race day food available at the main aid station includes chips, cookies, peanuts and assorted nuts, candy, fresh fruit, vegetables, grilled cheese made to order, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or wraps, hummus, and pickles. Beverages include water, coffee, pickle juice, and Tailwind Sports Drink. Ice will be available throughout the event.
Willow Creek State Recreation Area sits on the Willow Creek Reservoir and offers multiple camping options, including electric and basic sites and equestrian sites. Willow Way Campground has about 165 campsites with electricity. Park amenities listed include picnic tables, fire rings or grills, drinking water, dump and fill station (located near the Pierce County Courthouse about 5 miles from the lake), modern restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Approximately half the campsites take reservations; the remainder are first-come, first-served with self-registration via iron ranger stations using check or cash.
