NipMuck Trail Marathon
The NipMuck Trail Marathon is scheduled for October 4, 2026 in Ashford, CT and is organized by the Shenipsit Striders. The event follows a middle segment of the 36 mile Nipmuck Trail and uses Perry Hill Road as the race finish location.

The marathon course follows a 13 mile segment of the Nipmuck Trail. The route runs south about 6.2 miles to Route 44 then back to the start, then north about 7 miles to Boston Hollow Road before returning to Perry Hill Road. The trail surface includes rocks, roots, mud and wood bridges. Approximately 60% of expected time is spent in the second half of the race due to hills and slightly greater distance in that section.
Logistics note: the race start is at the corner of Lipps Road and Perry Hill Road in Ashford. A pre race briefing is held for marathon runners. Course cutoffs are enforced at the midpoint (about 12.4 miles) and at the second turnaround (about 19.4 miles), and there is an overall finish cutoff. Race shirts are available as an add on and shirt orders must be placed before September 12. Entry fees listed range from USD 53.50 to USD 76.87.
