Night Owl 6 Hour Shuffle
The Night Owl 6 Hour Shuffle is a timed six-hour ultra run at Lake Elmo Park Reserve Nordic Center in Lake Elmo, MN. The course uses grassy ski trails over rolling hills and is presented as an introduction to ultra running, long enough to exceed marathon distance.
Each loop of the long course measures 3.3 miles. A shorter loop of 1.2 miles is available for use near the end of the event or as a break from the long loop.
Registration and check-in begin at 1pm. The event is limited to 100 participants and the entry fee is $50. Trail lights will be turned on for the final hour and a half of the six-hour event. Because much of the event occurs without lighting, runners must bring supplemental lighting such as a headlamp or a hand held flashlight; the event does not provide headlamps.
The format emphasizes repeated loops on a defined course, allowing runners to count laps and plan pacing around loop distances and the available short loop option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
