NIDS Oral Cancer Awareness 5K Run and 2K Walk
The event is a community running and walking event held at the Lake County Fair Grounds in Crown Point, IN. It includes two distances and takes place on a closed course that uses paved and gravel trails and includes some hills.
Participants may pre-register online. Registration fees for the regular entries are $20 for the 5K and $15 for the 2K walk. Late entry and same-day sign-up are available at a $25 fee for entries after September 12. A limited number of shirts will be available for purchase at the event for $15 each.
Race services and amenities include on-the-bib disposable chip timing for the 5K and that full results will be posted online. The 2K walk is non-competitive and will not be timed. The event will offer DJ music, prizes, medals, and sponsor giveaways.
Awards include medals and a $100 gift card to Gamba Ristorante in Merrillville for the top male and top female overall finishers in the 5K, plus medals for top male and top female finishers in each age category.
